    Description

    CMA:


    • Experience in a medical office setting.

    •Must understand, courteous and professional at all times incontacts with patients, visitors, employees, and medicalstaff.

    • Assist Doctor with patients.

    •Demonstrate knowledge in a medical office.

    • Anticipatedoctor's needs for each patient based upon patient complaints andtreatment plan/guidelines.

    • Verify that patientresults, x-rays, labs and procedure reports are in patient chartsprior to seeing doctor.

    • Gather patient's vitals andcomplaints, document in patient medical record.

    • Chartaccurately and legibly to include lab results.

    •Facilitate physician and patient communications.

    •Complete lab requisition forms and assure that specimens are sentto correct labs per patient insurance contract.

    •Maintain and monitor exam room and procedure room supplies andinstruments.

    • Clean and sterilize instruments inaccordance to OSHA Regulations. Clean autoclave as required.

    • Complete clinical portions of chart preparation.

    • Schedule surgery and give patient appropriate instructionsprior to surgery and refer to Front Office Coordinator or OfficeManager for insurance authorization.

    • Provide backupsurgery scheduling.

    LPN

    • Performs patient care responsibilitiesconsidering needs specific to the standard of care for patientsage.
    • Demonstrates ability under directsupervision of an RN, to perform a head-to-toe assessment on allpatients and reassessments as per policy. This includes pediatric,geriatric and general patient population.
    • Ability to adequately assess and reassess pain. Utilizesappropriate pain management techniques. Educates the patient andfamily regarding pain management.
    • Demonstratesknowledge of medications and their correct administration based onage of the patient and patient's clinical condition.
    • Follows the five medication rights and reduces thepotential for medication errors.
    • Demonstratesability to revise plan of care as indicated by the patient'sresponse to treatment and evaluate overall plan daily foreffectiveness.
    • Formulates a teaching planbased on identified patient learning needs and evaluateseffectiveness of learning; family is included in teaching asappropriate.
    • Demonstrates an ability to assistphysicians with procedures and performs services requiringtechnical and manual skills under the direction of anRN.
    • Treats patients and their families withrespect and dignity. Identifies and addresses psychosocial,cultural, ethnic and religious/spiritual needs of patients andtheir families
    • Interacts professionally withpatient/family and involves patient/family in the formation of theplan of care.
    • Identifies and addressespsychosocial needs of patients and family; communicates with SocialServices/Case Management regarding both in-hospital and postdischarge needs.
    • Demonstrates knowledge of theprinciples of growth and development over the life span and theskills necessary to provide age appropriate care to the patientpopulation served. Able to interpret data about the patient'sstatus in order to identify each patients age specific needs andprovide care needed by the patient group.
    • Consults other departments, as appropriate, to providefor an interdisciplinary approach to the patients needs.

    RN

    • Experience in a medical officesetting.
    • Must be understanding, courteous andprofessional at all times in contacts with patients, visitors,employees, and medical staff.
    • Assist Doctorwith patients.
    • Demonstrate knowledge in amedical office.
    • Anticipate doctor's needs foreach patient based upon patient complaints and treatmentplan/guidelines.

    • Chart accurately and legibly to include labresults.

    • Perform minor procedures as direct by Physician:injections, suture, and staple removal.
    • Complete clinical portions of chartpreparation.
    • Schedule surgery and give patientappropriate instructions prior to surgery and refer to Front OfficeCoordinator or Office Manager for insuranceauthorization.
