Description

Applications will be accepted continuously until otherwise noted and the list will be used to fill current vacancies in this classification.
Under supervision, to perform a variety of nursing services in support of public and mental health programs and services; to assist with the planning and conduct of clinics; to do related work as required.
SUPERVISION EXERCISED
Exercises no supervision.
Examples of Duties
Assists with the planning and conduct of clinics; loads supplies and equipment and sets up facilities for clinics; disseminates educational information; performs basic health assessments and tests; gives injections; maintains and updates health and clinic records; cleans up after completion of clinics; may perform home visits; telephones participants to verify status; records lab work data into medical records; takes and records medical histories; consults with other nursing and medical staff regarding identification of medical problems and assistance with providing nursing care; forwards written test results; assists with local community contacts for participation in health programs and services provided by the County; attends meeting and conferences for development of nursing information and skills; completes required reports for other governmental agencies.

Essential duties require the following physical skills and work environment:
Ability to sit, stand, walk, kneel, crouch, stoop, squat, twist, and lift 25 lbs.; exposure to cold, heat, noise, outdoors, chemicals, explosive materials, and infectious diseases; ability to travel to different sites and locations.

In addition to the application, the applicant is required to complete the Supplemental Questions to further evaluate their education, training and experience relative to the required knowledge, skills and abilities for the position.
Applicants must submit answers that are as complete as possible.
Only qualified applicants who pass the minimum qualifications review, will be invited to the examination process which may be administered by a written examination, oral interview, or any combination of qualifications appraisal determined by the Department of Human Resources to be appropriate.
Depending upon the number of applicants meeting the minimum qualifications, applicants may be scheduled for the assessment listed below. Passing score is 70% out of 100%.
