Position Summary


The General Manager will work to establish the strategic direction of the organization and set the goals and objectives of the company.

Main responsibilities will include, but not be limited to, implementing strategic and tactical plans, management of all key functional departments, forecasting and management of key financial data, communication to all stakeholders and building a performance-based culture.

The GM will provide leadership regarding optimal organizational structure, business development, staffing levels and training & development.

The General Manager also has direct responsibility for creating site sales/revenue growth opportunities through Customer interface and driving bid opportunities through to signed contracts.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Work with the Chief Executive Officer to develop the strategic direction for the business. Provide direction and guidance to functional and business leaders on the development and execution of tactical plans to support the business strategy.
  • Evaluate and advise on the impact of shortterm decisions as well as longrange planning, and introduction of new tactics/strategies.
  • Assess, manage and motivate all direct reports with a strong emphasis on planning, implementation, discipline, followup, accountability and communication.
  • Promote a culture of constant collaboration and accountability between engineering, program management and manufacturing. Define and implement common objectives to achieve the highest level of customer satisfaction as well as revenue and EBITDA goals.
  • Assess the organizational and geographic footprint of the company. Drive decisions to cut costs, create efficiencies, improve quality, and enhance customer service.
  • Communicate clearly and directly with employees concerning performance expectations, productivity and accountability. Communicate consistently and often in both group and individual settings.
  • Know and follow general company and corporate policies and procedures.
  • Know, understand, and follow department policies and procedures.
  • Develops and maintains maintenance repair operations and manufacturing business plans to include all program requirements, labor hours, cycle, production costs, and image.
  • Provides input to the development of product strategy and research and development of new and emerging products.
  • Establishes production and quality control standards, develops budget and cost controls, and obtains data regarding types, quantities, specifications, and delivery dates of products ordered.
  • Provides guidance to the development of manufacturing process plan, including personnel requirements, material needs, subcontract requirements, facility needs, and tooling and equipment needs.
  • Ensures all established costs, quality, and delivery commitments are met.
  • Coordinates activities with all other functions of the organization and suppliers to obtain optimum production and utilization of human capital, machines, and equipment.
  • Reviews production and operating reports and directs the resolution of operational, manufacturing, and maintenance problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delays.
  • Performs administrative activities associated with the effective management of shop operations, including compiling, storing, and retrieving production data for reports.
  • Determines responsibilities of assigned organization and staff positions to accomplish business objectives.
  • Trains and ensures all assigned employees are aware of and comply with company, government, and customer policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Other various duties as needed or as assigned.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Aerospace, or related field. MBA degree preferred
  • 10+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment
  • 5+ years of experience in a leadership role
  • Experience in the aerospace industry is strongly preferred
  • Experience with Six Sigma and LEAN man
