Local process measurement instruments manufacturer needs a Manufacturing Engineering Manager to coordinate activities in the department. Manager engineers who develop systems for product fabrication and mechanical assembly. Provide engineering management in support of improved product quality and reduced production costs. This job is in a nearby New Jersey suburb.

Oversee all activities of the department which include:

Conducts studies to maximize work flow and process utilization
Oversee BOM costs for new products. Maintain accurate BOM for all products.
Design fixtures for new and existing products
Design, install and startup of new equipment and processes
Participates in product launches
Develops work instructions
Designs assembly fixtures and manufacturing equipment
Work on plant layout and process improvement projects
Reviews production reports and solves manufacturing and maintenance problems, reducing costs and preventing shipping delays
Develops safe work practices. Seek opportunities for improvements in product and process quality.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, other Bachelor of Engineering, or fouryear degree in a similar field.
Eight years' experience working in manufacturing, and specifically in the manufacturing of electromechanical devices. Some management experience is required.
Some experience or knowledge about automation, PLC's, in a manufacturing environment is a plus.
Experience with welding, brazing, soldering.
Experience or knowledge about lean manufacturing, line balancing, process flow.
