Description

We are a Skilled Nursing Facility looking for a full-time Business Office Manager (BOM) for our El Cerrito nursing facility.

This position requires excellent writing and verbal communication skills in English as well as good judgment skills. The BOM must have good organizational and multitasking skills. Working knowledge of timekeeping/timecard processing, office software packages such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Worklinx are required. Working knowlege and experience in HR processes and CA State Labor Law is also a requisite. You must have supervisory experience.

You must be a business professional, with strong ethics and a high moral standard as integrity and respect for confidentiality are essential.


The BOM has a wide range of responsibilities to carry out and is the liaison between senior management, department heads and general staff.

Some of the duties of this position are as follows but not limited to:


  • Implement and police the various policies and procedures of the facility and corporate office
Process timecards and schedules in compliance with set company policies

Monitor office supplies and submit monthly supply requests to the Corporate Finance Dept. for processing

Process 3.5 Staffing Analysis required documentation

Maintain Petty Cash and submit accounting report and requisition to AP

Ensure that mail (via fax or interoffice envelopes) is routed to appropriate personnel


Ensure that all forms of communication (memos, announcements, advisory, new policies and procedures, etc.) from the Corporate Office are relayed to staff, vendors or contracted personnel.

Answer any questions pertaining to House Rules, Employee Handbook and Collective Bargaining Agreement (Union Contract)

Be able to explain attendance, accrual hours, vacation, sick time, etc.

Be able to explain the benefit package process same

Participate in or conduct orientation and in-service programs as are related to HR and PR

Compile accurate and timely reports such as: daily Census Report, monthly Attendance Reports, and daily Staff Ratio reporting

Monitoring the work performance of the Receptionist

Manage HR/PR processes in a manor to insure confidentiality and security.

Participate in new hire training, in-services and seminars as requested.


The individual will have 2-3 years of related experience within the healthcare field _and/or_ possess a degree/certificate from an accredited college in a healthcare field, business management or accounting.
