SALARY:
$180,000 -$210,000 + benefits + stock options


SUMMARY:

This position is focused on building the framework for product execution excellence and will partner closely with Product Management and Product Engineering.

As such, this leader reports to the VP of Engineering.

This leader introduces leverage with a small team of product planning leads and solutions architects that own key system integration dependencies.

This leader in concert with a small team will promote quality by design engineering and engender a passion for building market viable products by working with customers, field teams and product management.

This leader will ensure that a lean culture is put in place so that technical debt is minimized, and the majority of engineering resources are focused on new products.


The leader of this team will be highly technical and capable of being a system/solution architect while leading a team that will focus on end-to-end product and operations quality.

This leader will work with the ELT members to develop, plan, and implement engineering policies, workflows, and key innovation department KPIs.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Developing a highly leveraged, company advancing team that reduces technical risk.
  • Manages projects throughout product development cycle and release, from component to platform specific product meeting KPIs and specifications of each project.
  • Capable of partnering with engineering leaders and product management leader to improve the accountability of the execution culture.
  • Highly proficient with BEV systems (Thermal Management, Energy Systems, Drive train, Power electronics, communications, etc.) and implements stringent engineering processes, statistics, and principles to drive the various development phases (Concept, Design Validation, Process Validation, Product Validation, Product Release, etc.)
  • Responsible and capable of driving thoughtful root cause analyses on critical items when appropriate.
  • Responsible for supervising multiple projects, leading/guiding multiple crossfunctional teams, and retaining/inspiring ZEVx culture within the team.
  • Responsible for guiding and reviewing innovation gate and product release documents.
  • Periodically report the stakeholders with critical updates and perform other related duties as assigned by management.
  • Product development experience in the automotive or ecosystem of automotive industries
  • Strong communication skills

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
  • Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
  • Selectively drives projects, processes and program initiatives with the ability to ensure strong decisionmaking.
  • Capable of hiring strong talent and successful at building teams.

QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Master's Degree a plus, 15 plus years of engineering and manufacturing engineering experience, with at least 3 years in a handson development, implementation and preproduction delivery role.
  • Experience managing engineering organization of 15 or more contributors with cross functional and matrix management skills as well
  • Working knowledge and experience in key operations best practices techniques,
- "Out of the box thinker" must be key driver contributing to the products roadmap and willing to take innovative paths while balancing the road map for on Jme deliverables.

  • Manage diverse, simultaneous projects of varying complexities.
  • Strong product engineering development abilities with program skills including schedule management; cost control; and manpower/resource allocation.
  • Professional and positive approach, selfmotivated, strong in building relationships, team player, dynamic, creative with the ability to work on own initiative.
  • Demonstrated strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Experience within the Electric Vehicle industry preferred.
  • Prior experience in a startup environment and large company environment is desirable.
