The Document Control Administrator will oversee all Quality System records to include (but not limited to) Standard Operating Procedures, Work Instructions, and ensure Engineering documents are properly updated, released and controlled.


Summary:
The Document Control Administrator position in the Quality Department is a key support position to all departments within Miltec. An important requirement for this position is interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with others.

The DCA should exhibit competencies of thoroughness, attention to detail, communicate effectively, and have the ability to train others using the Document Control and Quality Management System processes as described below.


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Document Control to include:
  • Development, review, and issue Quality System documentation.
  • Lead Miltec's Document Control efforts for Manufacturing and Engineering support with MiSys, BOM's, and part number assignments.
  • Operate data capture technology to import digitized documents into document management system.
  • Assist and identify document management requirements of departments and/or end users and provide solutions.
  • Assist in the assessment, acquisition, or deployment of new electronic document management systems as requested.


  • Technical Writing

  • Assist company as appropriate with technical project writing.
  • Maintain training system relative to Quality and released procedures which require training.

Quality Management System:

CAR Administration
  • Support the Corrective Action & Preventive Action (CAPA) Quality system process by scheduling meetings, monitoring Corrective Action Reports (CAR's) and Supplier Corrective Action Reports (SCAR's) progress, following up on assigned tasks, obtaining approvals from stakeholders, and ensuring that Quality Systems processes are being appropriately followed.

ECO Administration

  • Oversee and Facilitate Miltec efforts in administering the Engineering Change Order (ECO) Quality System Process.

To include, but not limited to:
preparing documentation, executing signature approval process, updating company system BOM's and vault documentation, completing trend analysis. Facilitate routine meeting with responsible departments to expedite the process. Train employees on ECO process as appropriate.

  • Developing, as well as, making improvements to existing Procedures, Work Instructions, Forms, and other Quality System documents as requested.
  • Assist Quality Manager to audit Miltec and Supplier Quality System activities as requested.
Other duties as assigned.


Minimum Requirements

  • Training and/or basic understanding of Quality Management Systems in a manufacturing or other ISO environment
  • Proficient in general computer and documentation skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to collaborate with people at all levels
  • Excellent command of written English
  • Experience writing documents or other correspondence
  • Ability to understand general engineering documents is a plus

Education and/or Experience

  • Associates' degree preferred, with emphasis in technical writing/English or engineering discipline or applicable field of study and/or equivalent years of experience.

Physical Requirements

  • Work is sedentary in nature regularly required to sit, walk and stand. Must be able to talk and hear inperson and by telephone. Must be able to use hands repetitively to operate standard office equipment.
