Description

As an Associate Security Analyst, you will be responsible for researching, planning and implementing approved security measures to protect computer networks and systems. You will interface with internal departments to assess and analyze security needs and participate in the organization and implementation of Company security training.


This is a Binghamton Home Office position.

Description of Duties & Responsibilities of an Associate Security Analyst:

  • Analyze, test, recommend and implement improvements to information security protocols, procedures and systems. Analyze and respond to Threat Intelligence information and recommend or provide countermeasures as required to mitigate risks associated with vulnerabilities relevant to the operating environment.
  • Monitor, investigate and analyze security events from various systems and create reports of analysis for management.
  • Accurately and promptly Identify security risks and exposures, determine cause of security violations and recommend procedures for resolution of identified issues. Install, Configure and monitor approved tools and recommend countermeasures.
  • Perform vulnerability testing, penetration testing, risk analyses and security assessments as assigned by management.
  • Continually develop knowledge and skill in field of work through attendance at relevant training programs, conferences, seminars, and through selfstudy.
  • Assist with planning and participate in the organization and implementation of Company security and security awareness training.
  • Interface with security vendors to resolve any outstanding issues and investigate anomalies.
  • Maintain a current level of knowledge and training regarding changing cybersecurity requirements, vulnerabilities, threats and countermeasures. Research and keep abreast of industry developments including but not limited to technology and security environments, risks and controls.

Required Skills & Experience of an Associate Security Analyst:

  • Up to 2 years of information technology experience required.
  • Experience with cyber security, penetration testing and networking required.
  • Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Penetration Tester (CPT) or Certified Web App Penetration Tester (CWAPT) preferred.
  • Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Windows Suite required.
  • Experience with Mac, Windows and Linux operating systems required.
  • Experience with TCP/IP, firewalls, intrusion prevention and SEIM systems required.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Ability to pay close attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritize and organize a heavy workload.
  • Ability to adapt to change and work under pressure.

Education Required:
Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems or related field of study is required.


Pay Range:
$58,500 to $75,000 annually


The starting pay rate for this role is based on a variety of relevant factors, including location, education, experience, and skills.
