Sentara Health is seeking to hire a qualified individual to join our team as a
Accounts Receivable Specialist II
Position Status:
Full-time, Day Shift
Position Location:
This position is
HYBRID or REMOTE for residents of Virginia or North Eastern North Carolina
Standard Working Hours: 8:00AM to 5:00PM (ET).
Position Summary:
Responsible for the billing of insurance claims and/or the resolution of issues preventing the payment of outstanding accounts receivable, for assigned payer(s).
Role requires a strong working knowledge of billing and collections with a demonstrated ability to resolve more complex billing edits and/or resolve more complex denials and payment delays.
Demonstrates a strong knowledge of insurance regulations and payer practices. A proven track record of effective AR collections or accurate billing of insurance claims.Positive attitude, attention to detail, questioning attitude, willingness to collaborate with leadership and other team members to continuously improve processes.
Minimum Requirements:
- A total of three years of experience in healthcare, across the following areas:
- Billing or resolving insurance accounts receivable
- Adjudicating insurance claims
- Preregistering or registering patients for healthcare services
- Handling calls in a customer service call center.
