Job Overview:
Duties:
- Process referrals from providers for specialty services
- Verify insurance coverage and obtain authorizations as needed
- Coordinate appointments for patients with specialists
- Maintain accurate and uptodate referral records
- Communicate with patients, providers, and insurance companies regarding referral status
- Ensure compliance with ICD10 and other coding standards
- Handle medical records in a confidential and secure manner
Experience:
- Previous experience in a medical office setting
- Proficiency in medical coding, including ICD9 and ICD10 codes
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and patient privacy requirements
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
