**Description**
The SVP and General Manager is the executive leader of the Enterprise Business Unit, and holds responsibilty for Strategic Planning, Sales, Product and Marketing, Operations, and the execution of annual budgets. Located in Newark, NJ and reporting to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) this role will be responsible for developing and executing the strategic and operational plans for the Extenet Systems Enterprise Business Unit. The SVP and General Manager will have full P&L responsibility, will ensure that the business operates in a highly efficient manner while investing in infrastructure, sales, service delivery, and support systems necessary to deliver superior customer satisfaction. The VP/GM will be tasked with assembling a fully functional leadership team in the quest to deliver both top-line growth and profitability. The SVP and General Manager will also partner with the companys Finance, HR, and Legal teams to ensure that resources are aligned to meet overall business objectives.
**Essential Job Functions:**
The SVP and General Manager for the Enterprise Business Unit will give special consideration to the following key responsibilities:
Build a robust, well-functioning go-to-market engine that will enable the companys profitable long-term growth.
Lead with a high degree of integrity and forethought in decision making.
Create an annual strategic plan and communicate this to executive leadership and the Board.
Refine the range of product and service offerings to both attract additional customers and retain and expand relationships with existing customers.
Set strategic goals for the Business Unit and provide a roadmap to achieve goals.
Lead the strategy and sales process for the entire National team in driving double digit year over year growth with venue-based clients.
Actively participate in recruiting new talent, developing team members, addressing performance issues, and providing coaching and mentorship.
Provide direction to the companys engineering, implementation, operations, and regulatory teams to ensure resources are properly aligned to meet customer and business objectives.
Represent the company as a senior leader at trade shows, PR forums, and community meetings, as necessary.
Perform additional related job duties as required and assigned
**Qualifications:**
Demonstrable B2B telecom experience with a minimum of 15 years in relevant leadership positions and extensive experience working with enterprise clients.
Bachelors degree in Business, Marketing or Engineering strongly desired. MBA is a plus but not required.
Experience in building a growth-oriented technology company focused on fiber connectivity, co-location, network solutions and managed services.
Expertise in interpreting contracts and customer negotiations, combined with a rigorous analytical approach.
Ability to present and report on construction, sales and installation pipeline.
Clear ability to lead an organization, to inspire and motivate associates, to set high standards of achievement and willingness to be deeply engaged, setting and achieving aggressive goals.
High level of integrity and strong foundation of superior ethical business practices.
An individual with vision and excellent interpersonal and communication skills with an ability to articulate and drive a business strategy.
High energy with the ability to motivate others and build high-performing teams with a proven track record of success.
