SUMMARY
Manage accounts receivables and reconcile aging and expected revenue to: SBH, STM, and Sage financials.

Manage, reconcile and resolve all receivable's including:
EOB's, claim adjustments/rejections, un-applied cash or credit balances, copay collections and aging. Develop and implement action for resolving all billing issues, and performing collections as necessary. Recruit, manage and evaluate staff by providing timely mentoring, training and performance management.

    PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Manage Billing department staff and processes of: 3rd party billing, contracts, and cash, payments.
  • Reconcile aging and expected revenue including cash, checks, SBH, STM and Sage financials
  • Post and reconcile explanation of Benefits (EOB's), process and review detailed aging reports, resolve all claim rejections and denials, including investigating issues and corresponding with appropriate parties, in an effort to resolve and make recommendations to reduce or eliminate write offs.
  • Investigate and resolve any unapplied cash or credit balances found in the aging report.
  • Prepare related reports and presents to managers at meetings.
  • Recruit, manage, develop and evaluate staff by providing timely mentoring, training and performance management.
  • Complete required paperwork in accordance with company policy.
  • Manage the operational and fiscal activities of the department to include: staffing levels, budgets and financial goals.
  • Attend SBH meetings and submit a written report monthly to CQM team.
  • Maintain a file of all the Billing Contracts and updates to contracts.
  • Set up and maintain that all services from contracted payers are in the system.
  • Review, Payers for any possible new services or updates to contracts that may be appropriate for SBH clients.
  • Engage all clients by understanding and addressing their needs whether within or outside the scope of the specialty.
  • Attend & participate in engagement team meetings, follow up with client service plans and communicate effectively with clients and staff in other specialty areas.
  • Ensure compliance with program/department, agency and/or funder requirements, as well as, SMOC policies & procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS

  • 3rd Party Coding and billing of Behavioral Health/ Medical Services experience required
  • Management experience required.

ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIP

  • Directly reports to Operations Director.
  • Direct reports of this position are Billing Assistant, Data entry Administrator.

WORKING CONDITIONS


As part of the responsibilities of this position, the Billing Supervisor will have direct or incidental contact with clients served by SMOC in various programs funded or administered through the Executive Office of Health and Human Services.
