Reporting to the Head Coach of Women's Basketball, the Director of Basketball Ops will support the Women's Basketball program by performing the following duties:

  • Is responsible for game day and practice management before, during, and after competition for all home and away games.
  • Manages all team travel logistics.
  • Works with Head Coach to manages the budget for the program, including collaborating with the Finance team to forecast quarterly. Tracks all expenses.
  • Oversees student managers' daytoday operations, including all games and practices.
  • Assists with video and film exchange to assist coaches in team preparation.
  • Oversees planning, purchasing, branding, and distribution of apparel, equipment, and gear for team, coaches, and travel party. Manages equipment budget.
  • Coordinates with sports marketing staff to market and promote the Women's Basketball Program.
  • Assists in managing social networks (i.e. Facebook and Twitter).
  • Assists with all camps, clinics, and community service initiatives.
  • Assists with on campus housing for studentathletes.
  • Manages the administrative function for the Women's Basketball Program.


The position is based at GW's Foggy Bottom Campus in Washington, DC but will require significant domestic travel for games and events.

The incumbent may perform other related duties as assigned.

  • Outstanding communication, writing and presentation skills.
  • Sports management or sport administrative experience.
  • Must be selfmotivated, able to work independently, and be part of a team preferred.
  • Experience managing budgets.
  • Experience coordinating team travel logistics.
  • Experience with equipment/apparel management.

Typical Hiring Range
