    Description

    Join the Defense and Intelligence Solutions Division as a Software Engineering Section Manager, leading top software developers providing solutions for next generation signal intelligence systems that span various customers and requirements across Air, Land, and Sea platforms.

    Objectives of this Role:

    • Manage and mentor software developers, supporting the staff to build and maintain their technical expertise and long-term careers.
    • Mentor and assist software staff on task work break down, estimations for tasks, and task tracking.
    • Develop strong Customer business relationships and help to build programs with a focus on understanding Customer mission needs and developing the right technological solutions to meet the needs. Assist with proposal development, requirements refinement, technical approaches, etc.
    • Utilize your hands-on experience with software languages, software development design practices, and software management tools, such as continuous integration tools, to provide direct software management support to programs.
    • Communicate effectively with onsite and remote staff, in regard to technical solutions, technical questions, documenting procedures, program and organizational, and implementation processes to meet Customer mission, program, and Division needs.
    • Write and conduct performance reviews, assist in recruiting and interviewing software development staff to expand the software business areas.
    • Help the department with resource planning for current and future work for software needs across the division.
    Daily and Monthly Responsibilities:
    • Provide line-level management for software developers, to include mentoring, coordinating program tasking, guiding career development, conducting performance reviews, and other responsibilities in line with company personnel policies and procedures.
    • Expand software development staff teams through active staff recruiting, job fairs, interviewing, and hiring activities.
    • Assist with Department and Divisional resource planning efforts, for both current and future work.
    • Support requirement development and provide technical guidance on software designs and analysis of alternatives.
    • Oversee and create software schedules as needed to support the development and integration of software solutions.
    • Work with peers to establish and continuously maturing software development standards and practices in line with evolving industry standards to maintain relevancies in the software development field. Support innovative thinking and internal research and development projects.
    • Support business opportunities and support proposing new work across the organization's areas of expertise and in line with its strategic goals.
    • Support proposals from a software development standpoint.
    Requirements:
    • Requires a Bachelors with a 3.00 GPA in Software Engineering, Software Development, Software Management Science
    • 10 years: Leading technology and software engineering teams, conducting performance reviews, and career development of direct reports.
    • Designing, developing, and leading software solutions to meet customer requirements
    • Assisting with proposals, both writing and estimates for software development solutions
    • Using excellent technical communications skills, both verbal and written, are required
    • The ability to proactively research and understand new software and technologies
    • Being detailed oriented and self-directed is required
    • Experience with the end to end software lifecycle is required
    • Heads-down software design, development and design lead experience is desired within the last 10 years.
    • A valid/clear driver's license is required
    Special Requirements:
