    The Opportunity

    We are seeking a dedicated Software Engineer with expertise in Java, Snowflake, and Oracle Cloud EPM Platform, as well as, experience with software testing, to join our dynamic team. As a intermediate level software engineer, you will have the opportunity to work on cutting-edge projects with a diverse team of seasoned professionals. We value self-starters who thrive when discoveries are constant and growing is required.

    We offer a flexible work environment that requires an individual to be in the office 4 days per week. This position can be based in one of the following locations: San Antonio, TX, Plano, TX, Phoenix, AZ. Relocation assistance is not available for this position.

    What you'll do:
    • Design, develop, code, and test technical solutions
    • Write code to deliver features, and improvements, on a regular basis
    • Investigates and resolve technical problems and production issues through troubleshooting techniques
    • Continually improves operations by conducting systems analysis and recommending changes in policies and procedures.
    • Prepares and installs solutions by determining and designing system specifications, standards, and programming.
    • Follows the software development lifecycle.
    • Ensures risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled in accordance with risk and compliance policies and procedures.
    What you have:
    • Bachelor's Degree or 4 additional years of experience beyond the minimum requirement can be used in lieu of a degree OR Approved certification from CodeUp, Galvanize, VetFIT (Veterans for IT) or eFIT (Employees for IT).
    • 2 years of software development experience specific to a discipline/technology.
    • 1 year of experience delivering technology solutions in all phases of the software systems and application development lifecycle.
    • Basic Understanding of one or more of the following: Java, Swift, Objective-C, Cobol, JavaScript, Kotlin, C++, HTML, CSS, SQL
    • Knowledge and understanding of troubleshooting applications and systems within production issues.
    • Ability to quickly understand applicable business acumen to provide appropriate Engineering solutions
    • Ability to effectively articulate technical challenges and solutions.
    • Basic understanding of cloud technologies and tools.
    What sets you apart:
    • Experience with Java
    • Experience with REST Integrations
    • Understanding of Data Engineering concepts and experience with cloud data platforms like Snowflake
    • Experience with Oracle Cloud EPM Platform
    • Experience in Control M
    • Experience with test case management, regression testing, automation, and defect tracking.
    • Experience with testing tools like Mockito, Postman, Selenium, etc

    What we offer:

    Compensation: USAA has an effective process for assessing market data and establishing ranges to ensure we remain competitive. You are paid within the salary range based on your experience and market data of the position. The actual salary for this role may vary by location. The salary range for this position is: $ 74, $ 141,830.00.

    Employees may be eligible for pay incentives based on overall corporate and individual performance and at the discretion of the USAA Board of Directors.
