    $10,000 Sign-On Bonus for Direct External Hires, Prorated for part-time employees.

    The Maternity Suite at Cambridge Hospital is a stunning unit with beautiful views of downtown Boston and Harvard Square.

    It comprises a Labor and Delivery (L&D) Unit and a Postpartum Unit, assisting over 1,100 growing families annually.

    The 7-bed labor unit features 3 triage bays and 2 ORs.

    We take pride in our multidisciplinary patient care, culturally sensitive approach to labor and delivery, and some of the lowest C-section rates in Massachusetts.

    The Postpartum Unit offers 12 private rooms with a level 1b continuing care nursery.

    This unit delivers care for mothers and infants from postpartum to discharge.

    We promote a culturally sensitive approach to couplet care and early family bonding.

    To oversee clinical operations, service planning, business performance, and performance improvement within the Department.

    Clinical Operations:
    • Direct supervision of all unit clinical and support staff, including accountability for employee competencies, evaluations, and annual reviews.
    • Providing leadership to staff to resolve conflicts.
    • Developing, implementing, and monitoring systems for equipment and supplies.
    • Developing, implementing, and revising unit clinical standards, policies, and procedures.
    • Collaborating within and across service lines and departments for effective clinical operations.
    • Collaborating with leadership team members for quality candidate recruitment and hiring.
    Service Planning:
    • Assessing client/patient community health needs and developing programs to meet these needs.
    • Assessing staff and patient educational needs and developing programs to address them.
    • Facilitating interdisciplinary patient care.
    Business Performance:
    • Developing unit budget and monitoring cost/unit and other business performance measures.
    • Implementing innovations to enhance efficiency while maintaining or improving quality.
    • Establishing staff accountability for business performance.
    Leading Change:

    Demonstrating familiarity with change psychology and applying it to lead change within the unit and the service line.

    Communication:
    Effectively communicating and collaborating with diverse individuals, disciplines, and departments across the organization and the community we serve.

    Diversity:

    Understanding how a diverse workforce impacts health service delivery and integrating organizational diversity into all work aspects.

    Labor Relations:
    Understanding labor relations and collaborating with union leadership and members.

    Staff Development and Evaluation:
    Effectively working with staff to maximize development, provide feedback, counsel, and implement disciplinary actions when required.
