We are a private family looking for MULTIPLE caregivers to help care for our son, Peter. He is 24 and is SEVERELY NONVERBAL AUTISTIC. We are open to individuals needing a part-time or flexible schedule and are open to any and all shifts. We would like to have people that have had behavioral training.

You will be his companion and will keep him company and help him complete a variety of tasks during the day.

He has mínimal language but is mostly non-verbal. He can use pictures and has some words to communicate his needs.

We do request a minimum of 12 hours per week and can provide a maximum of 40 hours per week.

This job is perfect for any person looking for extra supplemental income or who is looking for a variable schedule.

That being said, the one thing we will screen for is consistency. We cannot have someone who cancels last minute. Reliable, resilient, and respectful is what we are looking for. You will not be responsible for paying for food or gas while with Peter. All of that will be covered.

In caring for Peter, you MUST BE COMFORTABLE DOING THE FOLLOWING:

• Completing puzzles w/ Peter
• Driving Peter in the Car (he LOVES car rides)
• Assisting Peter with the Television or ipad
• Keeping Him Company At Our Home
• Assisting Peter with his activities of daily living (teeth brushing, showering, dressing, toileting, etc.)
• Assisting him with Cleaning Chores
• Assisting Peter with Baking Activities
• Assisting Peter with light yard work (he likes to removes weeds and palm fronds)

That being said, we are giving you the warning in advance that:

• Peter is a large adult male-6'2, 280lb
• He requires constant supervision.
• He may need help with toileting and wiping and cleaning up messes. He recently started having incontinence
• If he spills something, we will need your assistance with helping him to clean it up
• You will also need to assist Peter with food (either taking him to get food or cooking for him)

Shifts Available:
7AM to 11AM (4 hours)
11AM to 3PM (4 hours)
3PM to 7PM (4 hours)
7PM to 11PM (4 hours)
11PM to 3AM (4 hours)
3AM to 7AM (4 hours)

You can double book shifts and can pick a variable shifts as needed.

We are a large family and have many people who can assist throughout the day.

You will receive full training and will need to fill out a schedule and caregiver sheet at the end of the day.

We are looking for caregivers that will interact with Petey and speak to him because he understands everything, he just can not express his feelings.

This is a job that you have to want to get to know him and understand his gestures and limited vocabulary.

Hourly Rate & Benefits:
$ per hour for the first 3 months-depending on experience/training
After 3 months, you will be bumped up to $23.00 per hour.

After 3 months and based on performance, we will offer a Christmas Bonus and a bonus structure based on performance.
