- Serving as the media contact for up to nine (9) Catawba Athletic teams, which includes consistent contact with head coaches and the teams' standing within the SAC and Southeast region
- Upholds the rules and regulations of the NCAA, SAC and Catawba College
- Manages media and communications duties at all home athletic events and away, conference tournament and NCAA Tournament functions as required
- Oversees the statistical tracking of select Catawba intercollegiate events, ensuring a high degree of accuracy.
- Recruiting and managing graduate assistants, student workers, workstudy students, etc. in producing a highlevel quality production at home athletic events
- Align publicity efforts with those of the Athletic Communications, overall Athletic Department and College communication offices
- Maintain the Athletics website in a timely fashion in accordance with the highachieving standards within the Athletic Communications office
- Nominating assigned studentathletes and coaches for various conference, regional and national awards within set deadlines
- Communicate consistently and effectively with Assistant A.D. for Creative Services and Assistant A.D. for Communications with respect to expected responsibilities
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Bachelor's degree required, experience within a collegiate communications office preferred
- Outstanding writing, communication and interpersonal skills, a working knowledge of StatCrew and NCAA/Genius Live Stats
- Proficient in desktop publishing and content management platforms, including, but not limited to: Sidearm Sports, Adobe Photoshop & InDesign, Microsoft Word, Twitter, Instagram and Facebook
- Refined time management and interpersonal communication skills; ability to multitask, meet deadlines and maintain attention to detail under pressure

Description
Catawba College (Salisbury, N.C.), a member of NCAA Division II and the South Atlantic Conference (SAC), is searching for a qualified candidate to fill its Assistant Director of Athletic Communications position.
A new role within the Catawba Athletic Communications office, the position will assist in publishing and promoting Catawba's 24 intercollegiate sports, including recording and maintaining statistical records, managing the Athletics website, drafting and publishing press releases and recaps, producing and distributing visual graphic content to Catawba-branded social media platforms and ensuring home Athletics events are properly staffed and prepared for a high-level gameday environment.
The candidate will serve as a liaison between Catawba Athletics and its SAC, NCAA Division II and local media correspondents.
The position places an emphasis on increasing the visibility and production quality of Catawba's athletic programs, student-athletes, coaches, alumni and fans.
Working evenings and weekends is required.Duties and tasks include, but not limited to:
