Valley Community Services Board is looking for compassionate and dedicated people to join our Intermediate Care Facilities (ICF) Team as a Direct Care Professional Team members work together to foster independence and community engagement for individuals with developmental disabilities in a residential home.

Full-time, part-time, and PRN positions are available for all shifts.

  • Signon bonus of $5,000.00 delivered in 2 installments; $2,500 on first paycheck, $2,500 after six months of service.

_Summary of Essential Functions_

  • Provides direct, daily support to individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities in both residential and community settings.
  • Monitors clients' progress toward their personal goals, giving assistance as needed.
  • Maintains a thorough understanding of and assists with the implements personcentered plans.
  • Collaborates with an interdisciplinary team to ensure client needs are understood and served.
  • Assists with household tasks as needed, such as food preparation and cleaning.
  • Works with teammates to ensure a safe, healthy environment within the home.

_Minimum Requirements_

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Satisfactory completion of Direct Care Professional and Medication Administration training courses within one year of hire.
  • Once hired, must maintain certification in CPR/First Aid and other required trainings.
  • Must pass required preemployment screenings, including, but not limited to, criminal history and experience verification.

_Preferred Qualifications_

  • A Virginia driver's license with at least 0 points.

_Physical & Environmental Requirements_

  • Stand, squat, sit, bend, stoop, stretch.
  • Lift at least 25% of body weight.
  • Assist with wheelchair transfers and push a wheelchair.
  • Facilitate client transition from laying down, sitting, or other positions with or without supports.
  • Work in an environment where latex or foodbased allergens may be present.
  • Assist with meal preparation, service, and cleanup.
  • Submit to a tuberculosis screening.
