St. Peter's Health Partners is searching for a new Director for the Samaritan School of Nursing.

  • Responsibilities: The Director is accountable 24/7 for the efficient functioning of the School of Nursing (SON). They handle academic planning, program evaluation, and daily operations coordination. This role involves overseeing the Assistant Director, faculty, and staff. Collaborates with the Director of a sister school to ensure program continuity and policy alignment. Manages the administration of the SON, including curriculum, student recruitment, admissions, financial aid, faculty, staff, budgeting, hiring, and strategic planning.

Requirements:

  • Current New York State Registered Professional Nurse.
  • Graduate degree with a major in nursing.
  • Minimum 5 years of nursing faculty experience.
  • Academic leadership experience preferred.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Broad knowledge in nursing practice, human resources, finance, customer relations, and performance improvement.
  • Specialized knowledge of nursing education principles for program evaluation and policy development.

Mental/Visual/Physical Demands:

  • Moderate physical activity with sitting, standing, and computer work. Visual and auditory acuity required for evaluations. Travel between campuses is necessary, including occasional overnight trips.

Patient Sensitivity:

  • Ensures adherence to HIPAA and FERPA regulations for faculty and staff. Models respectful and confidential interactions.

Technical Knowledge:

  • Requires a range of technical knowledge in nursing practice, human resources, finance, and customer relations.
  • Specialized knowledge in nursing education principles for program evaluation and policy development.

Problem-Solving:

  • Full responsibility for decision-making. Strong problem-solving skills with fair interpretation, critical thinking, and resolution.

Internal/External Contacts:

  • Maintains effective communication with internal and external contacts. Involvement in formal and informal marketing, including public presentations.

Planning:

  • Impact on student outcomes, faculty effectiveness, customer relations, and school reputation. Implements strategic planning aligned with system goals and advisory council.

Pay Range:

$73.46 per hour. Payment based on experience, skills, and education level. The pay scale may vary by location.
