Description
Duties:
Performs duties as Data Scientist on the Business Intelligence team developing statistical models, statistical analysis, and data analytics to derive actionable insights from complex datasets.
Key Responsibilities:
Data Analysis:
Utilizes statistical models and analytical techniques to extract valuable insights from large datasets.
Data Modeling:
Develops and implements advanced statistical models to predict trends, identify patterns, and solve complex business problems.
Programming:
Proficiently uses programming languages such as R and Python for data analysis and modeling.
Visualization:
Creates and presents data visualizations, dashboards, and reports using tools like Power BI and MicroStrategy to convey findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Version Control:
Manages and collaborates on projects using version control systems such as GitHub.
Cloud Computing:
Works with cloud platforms like Azure and AWS to develop and deploy data solutions and models.
Collaboration:
Collaborates with cross-functional teams to define data requirements and provide data-driven solutions. Reports progress as required.
Documentation:
Maintains clear and concise documentation of methodologies, results, and code.
Data Governance:
Contributes to develop, implement, and manage the MCCS Data Governance strategy.
May serve as a strategic interface with areas of the business by participating in a process that partners IT with business functions.
Promptly reports any observed workplace hazards, and any injury, occupational illness, and/or property damage resulting from workplace mishaps to the immediate supervisor.
Adheres to established standards of actively supporting the principles of the EEO program and prevention of sexual harassment.This is a white-collar position where occasional lifting up to 20 lbs. may be required.

EVALUATIONS:
Qualifications:
A Bachelor's or higher degree in a relevant field (e.g., Computer Science, Statistics, Data Science, Economics, or Business Administration) is required OR 3 years of proven experience as a Data Scientist or similar role OR an appropriate combination of education and experience that demonstrates a knowledge and skill equivalent to that gained in the above.
Eligible for incremental telework as determined by MR/MF policy.
