IV Bagel Cafe located in Isla Vista, which has been awarded Best Breakfast in college towns Nation Wide by Spoon University, is looking to hire an Assistant Manager.

The Assistant Manager is responsible for working along with our General Manager and ownership to supervise the ins and outs of the restaurant, to ensure we provide the best quality and world class service and build our Catering business.

Prior to working here, you will need a Food Handlers Card (manager certification preferred but not required) and a Responsible Beverage Server Certificate.

• Provide support, direction, communication and leadership to the staff in an efficient professional manner with the goal of delivering the best quality food and world class customer service.
• Enroll our loyal customers to write great reviews on Yelp and Google.
• Build our Corporate and Catering Menus.
• Order Ingredients and maintain par levels as directed by our GM
• Ensure all food is cooked, portioned and prepared according to the set standards.
• Manage the daytoday operation, working with the culinary team and other employees as needed.
• Be willing to lead by example and do all aspects of the job including preparing Catering Platters, serving customers and cleaning (it is a Hands-On Job)
• Coach, train and counsel employees, especially regarding customer service, sanitation and safety.
• Make sure we don't make errors with online orders
• Promote and support a positive collaborative work environment with continuous learning culture through leading, managing and motivating a diverse staff.
• Enforce checklists to help keep the restaurant clean and to efficiently service our customers.
• Consistently maintains standards of quality and cost of goods.
• Ensures proper staffing for maximum productivity and high standards of quality; controls food and payroll costs to achieve maximum profitability.
• Makes recommendations for maintenance, repair and upkeep of the kitchen and its equipment.
• Prepares reports, arranges employee schedules and performs other administrative duties as assigned.

• Prior Experience as an assistant manager, or supervisor role in a restaurant setting.
• Awareness of occupational hazards and safety precautions; skilled in following safety practices and recognizing hazards.
• Knowledge of food handling and preparation principles and procedures for all foods produced and served.
• Provide excellent customer service.
• Ability to effectively supervise a team of 410 employees during a shift
• Knowledge of and ability to perform required role during emergency situations.
• Proficient skills in Microsoft office and Excel, or Google Sheets and Google Docs is a plus
