Core Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement category management strategies utilizing an endtoend value chain approach to increase market competitiveness and sustain ongoing category improvements
  • Regularly review category strategies and enhance effectiveness of existing strategies and/or develop new strategies in response to changing market factors and evolving requirements of the business
  • Communicate with other internal and external groups to share contract agreements and potential Supply Chain implications
  • Collaborate with the entire Supply Chain organization and internal customers to interpret the ongoing supply plan for the respective category
  • Identify subcategory, contract, and supplier risks for a respective category and develop mitigation plans to address these risks
  • Interface with other Procurement groups to provide support in the contract management process and to address issues that arise in the formation / implementation of the contract
  • Negotiate strategic contracts, communicate contract terms to the respective users and ensure policy and contract compliance between operations and suppliers
  • Lead crossfunctional sourcing team during sourcing events as well as prior to and during negotiations
  • Manage supplier performance within the Operating Procedures and category strategy
  • Identify ways to improve performance (e.g. timely payment, clear specification documents, etc.) to improve the relationship with suppliers
  • Execute supplier performance measurement activities and develop stakeholder guidelines in conjunction with Category Management strategic objectives, leveraging Performance Management information as appropriate
  • Ensure suppliers meet quality and regulatory requirements
  • Identify and manage supplier risks and risk response plans
  • Schedule, manage, and facilitate supplier relationship management meetings / reviews
  • Work with other Supply Chain groups to gather supplier performance data and Category Analysts to gather benchmarking data
  • Analyze supplier performance data to identify opportunities for overall improvement
  • Work with Procurement Specialists and legal personnel to propose and subsequently implement corrective actions and coaching for suppliers failing to meet contract requirements, including but not limited to ethical, social, and environmental responsibilities
  • Collect issues raised by suppliers regarding performance
  • Manage and redirect supplier inquiries and issues as appropriate to ensure timely and effective resolution within Procurement policies and procedures
  • Perform other related tasks and assignments as required.

Required Education/Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree Preferably in Business, Supply Chain business, Engineering, or other related field and 3+ years of work experience

Preferred Education/Experience

  • Master's Degree Preferably in Business, Supply Chain business, Engineering, or other related field and 2+ years of work experience
  • Project Management Professional
  • Lean/Six Sigma Certification

Relevant Work Experience

  • Advanced understanding of contract creation, contract management, negotiation, sourcing strategy, issue management, communication skills, motivating and developing others Required and
  • Analytic activities related to procurement, operations, marketing, or similar function Required and
  • Interactions with suppliers, internal customers, and stakeholders Required and
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, negotiation skills, and strong analytical skills Required and
  • Advanced endtoend value chain analysis Required and
  • Advanced Business Partner Relationship Management Required and
  • Advanced Supplier Relationship Management Required and
  • Advanced Risk / Opportunities Management Required and
  • Advanced Problem Solving / Analytics Required
  • Understanding of Oracle EBS Preferred
  • 810 years 8+ years experience in sourcing/procurement for direct and/or indirect spend Preferred

Licenses & Certifications

  • Driver's License Required

Physical Demands

  • Must push, pull, lift up to 25 pounds
  • Must sit or stand to answer a phone for entire shift
  • Must sit or stand to use a keyboard, mouse, and computer for entire shift
  • Must be able to read small print and symbols.

Other Physical Demands

  • Must be able to respond to Company emergencies by performing a System Emergency Assignment to restore service to our customers
