Starting pay range for this position is $ $33.47 per hour

The State of New Hampshire, Department of Military Affairs and Veterans Services has a full-time vacancy for Maintenance Technician.

Summary:


Performs technical maintenance and repair to the base's infrastructure, facilities, and utility systems at Pease ANG Base.

Responsibilities:

Maintains, repairs, and installs various air conditioning equipment, including window air conditioning units, heat pumps, package, and split-units of multitude sizes with direct exchange coils, and chilled water systems. Maintains and repairs various air handlers and their associated components, such as air filters, motors, motor controls, line starters, dampers, damper motor (electric and pneumatic), and belts, including various variable air volume systems and all related components to the variable air volume systems.

Troubleshoots and performs technical maintenance and repair on various control systems for the HVAC systems. Troubleshooting field devices and components such as control circuits, modulating motors, electronic temperature transmitters, electronic pressure transmitters, and binary and analog input/output circuit boards to keep the system functional.

Works on low and high voltage (over 600 volts) distribution systems (switch gears, distribution panels, branch circuits, transformers, etc.), building wiring systems, etc. Maintains, repairs, and installs motors, lights, controls, electric equipment; replaces components (coils, starters, switches, etc.), and performs all mechanical work required in repairing and replacing parts.

Performs electrical support to maintenance personnel working on facility maintenance tasks as required. Support may include, but is not limited; to installing, troubleshooting, and repairing various electrical components such as lights, outlets, switches, electrical equipment, transformers, and distribution systems.

Maintains, repairs, and installs a variety of electronic fire alarm and detection equipment to include fire alarm control panels, initiating devices, signaling devices, and electronic smoke alarms such as dual ionization systems and photoelectric systems.

Troubleshoots and performs maintenance and repair on piping and plumbing systems for domestic water systems, geo-thermal heating / cooling systems, compressed air, gas, and fuel oil. Provides installation and maintenance of a water distribution system to include maintenance and repair of fire hydrants, water meters, back-flow preventers, and water storage tanks.

Maintains, repairs, and installs dry and wet sprinkler systems, which include foam systems for the aircraft hangars. Maintenance includes weekly, monthly, and annual testing of the systems to verify that they are in accordance with local, state, and federal fire codes.

Performs carpentry, woodworking, and metal work to do installations of walls and doors, repair damaged wooden and metal parts of buildings and repair damaged furniture. Repairs, and installs brick, concrete and stone structures and appurtenances to maintain the masonry portions of departmental facilities. Paints interior and exterior parts of buildings to maintain appearance standards in departmental facilities.

- Operates light, medium and heavy equipment to perform maintenance and snow removal tasks. Performs snowplowing and shoveling, snow removal and surface treatment operations to maintain safe aircraft parking areas, roads, walkways, and parking lots.**
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
Associate's degree from a recognized technical school with a major in mechanical or electrical technology or maintenance.

Each additional year of approved formal education may be substituted for one year of required work experience.**
Experience:Five years' experience in the operation and maintenance of the mechanical and electrical equipment used in buildings, with at least two years' supervisory experience.

License/Certification:Valid driver's license is required.**
