Job Summary:

Assists the nursing staff and/or the physician/physician's assistant in the delivery of patient care.

Education:

Position requires a high school diploma or GED.

Registration/Certification/Licensure:

CNA License

Experience:

Position requires 0- 6 months equivalent combination of education and experience in related area.

Other Requirements:

Maintains unit specific and hospital competencies in accordance with policy requirements

Maintains unit specific and hospital competencies, mandatory learning, and any clinical certifications required in accordance with the Staff Education and Training policy GA 057 and/or any other department requirements.

TECHNICAL COMPETENCIESPrinciple Duties and Responsibilities**:

Assists patients with activities of daily living using proper body mechanics or lifting devices
Performs clerical and/or supply replenishment duties
Performs basic procedures according to the technical skills list under the direction/supervision of the RN
Communicates data/observations to the RN
Adheres to National Patient Safety Goals
