Description
The General Vicariate with its departments and other offices is the central administration of the Archdiocese of Cologne.

We are currently seeking several Catholic press officers (m/f/d) for our Media and Communication Department, Information and Publicity Division, with a workload of 50-100%.


Your responsibilities

  • Handling media inquiries and attending media events
  • Identifying, preparing, and effectively communicating topics, content, and events to the media
  • Developing topic plans and formats, quality control, and approving texts
  • Daily editorial coordination of strategic communication work
  • Responsibility for the Archdiocese of Cologne newsletter
  • Maintaining and building strong editorial relationships with media partners
  • Oncall availability for press inquiries
  • Assisting with crisis management

Your profile

  • Completed degree in humanities or communication studies (Master/Diploma) or equivalent qualification
  • Editorial experience
  • Indepth knowledge of church, social, sociopolitical, and cultural topics
  • Strong communication and technical skills
  • Proficient oral and written expression
  • Excellent analytical and conceptual thinking skills and ability to work in a network
  • Affiliation and identification with the tasks, goals, and values of the Catholic Church
