SCOPE / POSITION DESCRIPTION:


The Production Supervisor is an individual knowledgeable of factory's processes both in the Process as well as the packaging area.

Trained in Food Safety principles and handles well the Food Safety Plan developed for our products.

Is capable of developing appropriate strategies to comply with the production plan requirements in the most efficient manner by supervising and developing staff; organizing and monitoring workflow and actively looks for opportunities for improvement.


The Production Supervisor reports to the Production/Process Manager and leads directly a team of up to 5 line leaders and approximately 40 line associates.

Production Supervisors are required to work in flexible schedules as required by business needs.


RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Actively review of the production plan to suggest in a timely manner the best planning configuration to use production time efficiently based on line's throughout capabilities. He then uses appropriate internal channels to communicate and delegate job orders and goals to line leaders and team.
  • Plans ahead the shift activities and coordinates the required resources and support from other departments.
  • Provides his/her direct reports with the required resources to perform a quality job (includes but not limited to: labels, specifications, packaging material, utensils and tools)
  • Monitors personnel attendance, deals with attendance issues among his/her employees and provides reasonable reasons for overtime approval.
  • Receives and trains new employees on the specific activities of the area and keeps track of their progress and performance. Executes performance reviews when needed for all his/her direct reports.
  • Ensures safety in the workplace by adhering to and making sure employees are properly trained on safety procedures and follow the companies' safety policies.
  • Adheres to cGMPs policies and procedures and ensures his/her team is properly trained and follows them too.
  • Supports HR in providing the required training to employees following the established training paths for each area or position.
  • Reports to the appropriate departments and to direct supervisor any QA, Food Safety and/or Personnel Safety concern immediately and actively participates in their resolution.
  • Professionally reports any manufacturing issue or deviation (productivity loss) to the Plant Manager with a proper description and improvement suggestions.
  • Actively participates in Audits, new product development trials by owning the activities under production/process responsibility.
  • Makes sure production and traceability reports are being completed and loaded into the appropriate systems (Netsuite for example, or any other performance management system available) in a timely and accurate manner and if needed sent to the required recipients.
  • Builds a positive rapport with line leaders and encourages them and the whole team in a positive manner to ensure that Safety, Quality and Productivity targets are met in a consistent manner. When needed, counsels line employees and line leaders to ensure proper work ambiance and adherence to workplace standards.
  • Develops his/her team to build a healthy back up bench to support the business and ensure appropriate worklife balance

  • Ability to handle difficult and/or sensitive situations
  • Willing to learn and adhere to proper procedures in safety when working with moving machinery.
  • Willing to accept and drive change
  • Team player environment.

Physical/ Other Requirements:


  • Must be able to lift between 35 and 50 lbs. Any containers, bag or item that weights more than 50 lbs must be lifted in teams of 2 and /or using helping aids such as carts or forklifts (trained personnel only)
  • Must be able to perform repetitive tasks such as stand, walk, reach, bend, lift, walk, kneel, crouch, reach, stoop, squat, climb stairs throughout the shift.
  • Must be able to work in cold, wet, and/or humid areas Fahrenheit degrees) and strong food odor such as onions.
  • Must wear slipresistant footwear while working.
  • Must have reliable transportation to and from work.
  • Must be flexible with working schedule: weekends, holidays, shift change.
  • Must be willing to rotate areas as needed (Process/Packing)

Pay:
$70, $80,000.00 per year
