    Nucor Steel West Virginia is seeking a Maintenance Electrician who demonstrates high levels of honesty, integrity, and ownership in everything they do.

    The selected teammate will ensure the success of the team by SAFELY performing Preventative and Corrective maintenance on steel mill equipment and systems.

    During construction, maintenance electricians will help build the mill and create our computerized maintenance management system to ensure proper design criteria and equipment reliability.


    Job Functions include but are not limited to:


    Propose and implement innovative solutions to challenges in the steel making process with a focus on safety, reliability, quality, costs, and project management.

    Perform electrical and electronic troubleshooting and periodic maintenance on equipment.
    Demonstrate the ability to understand mechanical and electrical schematics.
    Demonstrate knowledge of high and low voltage electrical systems, programmable logic controllers, instrumentation, AC/DC variable frequency drives, motors & control systems
    Train teammates on new equipment and/or modifications to existing equipment
    Have the ability to work weekends, holidays, rotating shifts, scheduled and unscheduled overtime.

    Nucor Steel West Virginia is Nucor's new sheet mill with advanced steelmaking capabilities. This is a greenfield project, which is estimated to be fully operational in 2026.

    The new steel mill will employ 800 full-time teammates producing up to 3 million tons per year at one of the most technologically advanced sheet mills.

    This advanced manufacturing facility is to be located along the Ohio River in close proximity to both Huntington and Charleston, WV.

    This is a full-time position located at our offices in Mason County, WV.

    $115,000.00-$154, Compensation Range varies based on experience and is a full compensation package including a variable incentive during construction phase. Applicants starting below the top of our salary range have the ability to progress to maximum pay through our comprehensive training and development program.)


    Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.


    Minimum Qualifications:
    Minimum of 1 year of cold mill electrical maintenance experience
    Fundamental Electrical Theory knowledge.
    Experience Troubleshooting 480V Motors and Control


    Preferred Qualifications:
    2-year or 4-year degree in an electrical field related to industrial instrumentation, automation & control, or electrical engineering technology.
