Position Summary:

A trainee position learning to run / operate a paper converting sheeter.

A press operator is responsible for operating the sheeter and packaging equipment to ensure smooth operations while meeting the client's needs with the highest quality standards.

The main duties of the position include troubleshooting machines for malfunctions or irregularities, performing machine adjustments as needed to ensure proper operation, and conducting quality checks.

This is a safety-sensitive position.


What you'll do:


  • Train to operate EvTec sheeter with Martin automatic splicer, sollas poly wrapper, and strapper.
  • Our paper converting process is roll to cut sheet finished packaged product all in one line. Once the training period is completed you will be responsible for operating and maintaining the equipment, responsible for wrapping the finished product in a sollas poly wrapper. Your helper will box, lid, and skid the finished product.
  • Set up / make ready cut sheet jobs.
  • You will learn perf setting, slitter setting/changes, webbing the press and how to make press and packaging equipment adjustments.
  • Monitor equipment and job run during the process for quality and consistency of finished pieces.
  • Clean, oil, adjust and perform minor repairs.
  • Load Rolls of paper on the press
  • Package finished product by hand
  • Stamping lot number on carton
  • Inspects materials and products at each step of the packaging process
  • Place items in appropriately sized cartons or envelopes and seal and label them
  • Review job specifications to ensure accuracy
  • Ensure all related materials are at the press
  • Sort bundles according to destination
  • Package and box finished products off the production line
  • Stack finished cartons on pallets
  • Perform a variety of assignments requiring a thorough knowledge of techniques, materials, and equipment.
  • Other duties as assigned

Your Background:


  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Lifting requirement of 40 pounds
  • 23 years' experience in a fastpaced, light industrial environment is preferred
  • Communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Team player, selfmotivated, flexible, handson, detail and quality oriented
  • Prompt and reliable
  • Offset printing experience a plus
