Role Summary:
Are you a Learning Experience Designer (LXD) that has a background in graphic design, video production and user experience design? Do you like to build learning experiences to transform skills and behaviors, but also have a passion for supporting career development needs at scale? If you enjoy splitting time between these two roles on a daily and weekly basis, this is the job for you.
The Lead Learning Experience Designer will play a key role in designing and developing manufacturing learning experiences and assets that will shape the employee role readiness experience at Rivian and deliver our mission to Keep the World Adventurous Forever.
This role will work collaboratively across the Service organization and the broader Learning and Talent Development team to deliver innovative and scalable experiences and learning assets that transcend traditional slide decks, eLearning, ILT, job aids and virtual learning.
You will intake, design, develop, implement, and continuously improve learning programs and resources to scale with our rapidly growing organization.
Responsibilities:
Intake, design, develop, implement, and maintain learner-centric content using effective instructional design methodologies and technologies
Create project briefs, storyboards, course outlines and assessments
Design and develop branded guides, templates, and presentations to support Ops and Engineering Learning & Talent
Development programs and adhere to internal brand standards
Design visually engaging learning materials and web-based content to meet awareness and communication goals
Organize and assist in developing eLearning, learning manuals, pre-work, and course evaluation procedures
Partner and consult with internal stakeholders and liaise with experts regarding the most effective way to solve a learning need
Qualifications:
5+ years of instructional design and digital learning design experience supporting a manufacturing or corporate learning function. Automotive or hourly workforce experience is a plus.
Excellent visual design skills, including strong understanding of typography, color, iconography, illustration and composition.
Proficient with eLearning and video authoring software (Articulate Storyline and Rise, Camtasia, Final Cut Pro etc.)
Proficient with graphic design software (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, 3D Max etc.)
Experience using industry standard learning methodologies (ADDIE, SAM, CRI, etc.) to design learning programs for various levels of employees
Proven track record of operating independently, demonstrating creativity, strong attention to detail, and managing multiple projects simultaneously
Works well in virtually connected, fast-paced, and oftentimes ambiguous environments
Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant field such as Instructional Design or Education is a plus
