The Center for Advanced Systems Understanding (CASUS) is a German-Polish research center for data-intensive digital systems research, located in Görlitz.

Established in 2019, CASUS conducts interdisciplinary research in areas such as earth systems, biology, and materials.

  • We are currently seeking a PostDoc (f/m/d) to join our team and work on scaling hyperspectral data to quantify essential ecosystem variables. This position is available at the earliest possible date and is limited to three years. The work will be conducted in Görlitz and Leipzig.


The project aims to bridge scale gaps by integrating multi-scale data through multi-scale endmember extraction and unmixing, and by using generative deep learning methods to enhance the resolution of adjacent low-resolution satellite or airborne data.

  • Develop coregistered UAV, airborne, and satellite training datasets in Germany across different land use types
