WAREHOUSE MANAGER
International Decorators is 100% employee owned. We are one of Northern Illinois' largest drywall, acoustical ceiling, window treatment and painting contractors.
We are an employee-owned construction business that specializes in metal stud framing, drywall hanging and taping, window treatments, metal roof trusses, acoustical/specialty ceilings, interior/exterior painting, and wall covering.
We are seeking a Warehouse Manager in our Barrington office.Summary:
The Warehouse Manager coordinates warehouse staff to achieve maximum efficiency for deliveries and pickups. The Warehouse Manager maintains warehouse to achieve orderliness and cleanliness; proper inventory stock quantities.
Reports to:
Director of Operations
The Warehouse Manager's responsibilities include:
- Plan, direct, coordinate, and evaluate the delivery function of the Company to ensure efficient operations.
- Oversee all personnel under this position, including hiring, dismissal, performance reviews, compensation, and corrective actions.
- Ensure compliance with Company policies and procedures, including safety regulations, for all direct reporting employees.
- Provide guidance and training to warehouse staff to ensure accurate and efficient deliveries of materials and equipment.
- Track progress throughout the day with Drivers to maximize efficiencies in delivery operations.
- Approve all timecards and manage Paid Time Off requests for warehouse staff.
- Maintain equipment and tools for safe and efficient operation.
- Conduct monthly tool inventory for one superintendent's active employees.
- Fill out purchase orders for material and equipment orders.
- Receive and verify materials from vendors.
- Keep the warehouse clean, organized and safe.
- Monitor Stock Tickets to ensure adequate planning and prevent emergency deliveries.
- Review Stock Tickets early to ensure inventory availability.
- Schedule drivers to ensure timely deliveries without overlapping or backtracking.
- Perform or schedule building maintenance tasks to ensure a safe and functional workspace.
- Maintain special ordered materials in the warehouse, including communication of arrivals and departures, and ensuring their safety and integrity.
- Drive, load, secure loads, and unload trucks as necessary, including serving as an emergency driver when needed.
Preferred skills and experience:
- High school diploma or its equivalent
- 35 years warehouse experience
- Previous management experience
- Computer skills
