Delta Dental of New Jersey is currently seeking a Small Group Implementation Specialist to join our sales team.

Located in Parsippany, NJ, this is a hybrid position, in office Tuesday and Wednesday, and remote Monday, Thursday and Friday.

Beginning in January 2025, we will be in office Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, and remote Monday and Friday. Our core business hours are Monday through Friday from 8 am to 4:30 pm.

The Small Group Specialist is primarily responsible for onboarding all new small group accounts The Small Group Specialist will ensure that all groups meet Delta Dental NJCT's underwriting requirements prior to approval.

The Small Group Specialist is also responsible for building mutually beneficial relationships with General Agents and brokers to encourage new and repeat business.

The Small Group Specialist is responsible for consistently providing excellent customer service, as well as representing client needs and goals within the organization to ensure quality.

The Small Group Specialist will provide support both internally to the Small Group sales team and externally to our sales distribution and clients.

The successful Small Group Specialist will obtain a NJ and CT Health Producers license. This position is designed to offer development for future opportunities in account management, direct and broker sales.


Essential Functions & Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain a thorough working knowledge of underwriting requirements, products, pricing and services for Delta Dental's 250 business.
  • Work with brokers during the onboarding process to educate on underwriting guidelines, products, eligibility of groups and technology tools and services.
  • Collaborate and build relationships with Underwriting regularly to ensure understanding and recommend process improvements.
  • Ensure all onboarding deliverables have been completed, including approval letter, welcome kits and group implementation.
  • Support Small Group and Core Sales Executives in the onboarding and implementation process for all 250 business.
  • Monitor group accounts to avoid or identify potential problems and work with functional areas to resolve issues. Offer alternative solutions within Delta Dental's established processes while meeting the group's needs. Follow up on problems and concerns and escalate when necessary.
  • Support Small Group team sales activities, including broker events, presentations, enrollment meetings, renewals and conferences.
  • Represent Delta Dental both internally and externally in a professional, energetic and positive manner.
  • Assist with special projects and other duties as needed.

Experience, Education and Certifications Required

Required Educational Level

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Marketing or related field or Associates degree with related insurance experience

Certifications required/preferred

  • Acquire and maintain an active Health Insurance License
