Summary:

The
Supervisor Tech & Safety Training will provide customized development/training programs to the Transmission & Distribution Construction organization.

Ensure proper implementation of training programs (i.e., safety related programs and Apprenticeship program) by resolving issues, observing training in all settings, ensuring line management receives feedback, conducting meetings, educating personnel on the training process, and acquiring training resources.

Ensure accreditation standards are met by review and regular attendance at Joint Apprenticeship Committee meetings.


Minimum Requirements:


  • Bachelor's degree plus working experience/knowledge of company policies/procedures and IBEW labor agreement;
  • OR equivalent combination of comparable education and experience.
  • Demonstrated human relations skills, organizational effectiveness, excellent written/oral communications and leadership skills.

Preferred Special Skills, Knowledge, or Qualifications:

  • Completed a registered apprenticeship.

Major Accountabilities:

1) Direct and coordinate training strategies and operating objectives, ensuring that department personnel understand and carry out plan appropriately.

2) Coordinate, monitor, develop and modify training programs to meet the changing needs of the Transmission & Distribution Construction organization, ensuring that the competencies of the department personnel improves in technical, customer relations, and competitive culture skills.

3) Consult with all levels of management and front-line employees to analyze training needs to ensure customized, appropriate training is provided.

4) Communicate/coordinate across departmental organizations to effectively establish and communicate performance standards, provide staff development and create effective, open work environment.

5) Maximize training resource utilization through technology, integration, and sharing of resources.

6) Ensure compliance with all safety regulations/requirements, Apprenticeship requirements / standards, as well as, any other required developmental training.

CIP Requirement:

This position requires Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP) access consistent with North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) standards.

The applicant considered for this role will be required to obtain and maintain CIP access for the duration of employment in this position.

A full seven (7) year criminal history will be obtained through the pre-employment background check process (or, for current employees, through supplemental background check process) to fulfill the CIP access requirements.

In addition, this position requires an additional background check every seven years to maintain access.
