Description
Training

Special education teachers are socially and pedagogically trained professionals who are committed to assisting, advising, accompanying, caring for, and educating people with disabilities. They work in cooperation with other professional groups and services and make joint decisions about goals, content, and forms of action based on acquired knowledge of modern theories and methods of disability assistance. A holistic approach, tailored to the individual needs of people with disabilities, is at the center of their daily work. Special education teachers can find employment in day care centers, residential and nursing homes, workshops for people with disabilities, psychiatric clinics, outpatient social services, prevention and rehabilitation centers, or special needs schools and kindergartens. The three-year practical training program consists of a practical and a theoretical component.

Our Locations

The practical training, with three days per week, takes place primarily in our supported living facilities, workshops for people with disabilities, and in the forensic psychiatric clinic.

School

The theoretical instruction, with two days per week, takes place at one of the specialized schools for special education.
