The Scandinavian School of Jersey City is a Reggio Emilia inspired, Scandinavian nursery and Elementary school located just minutes from Manhattan.
We believe in following our children's interests, respecting, valuing and honoring children and childhood as well as providing our children, families and teachers with a home away from home.
One where love and care for one another is at the center and where a passion for children and childhood informs our day and practice.
We are currently looking for experienced teachers for our 10 week summer camp.
Our teachers are responsible for creating a warm and nurturing relationship with each child and family, designing an inviting environment that stimulates curiosity, weaving and scaffolding age appropriate concepts into children's play and projects.
Our teachers document the children's work, dialogue and play over the course of each week, which is later shared with families at the end of each week.
Additional Responsibilities include:
Tracking attendance daily by recording who is present, absent, and any health concerns, as needed
Cultivating the school's garden by tending to all indoor and outdoor plants
Creating a weekly class blog post
Maintaining a friendly and cooperative relationship with all children, families, and staff
Job Types:
Full-time, Temporary
Pay:
$ $25.00 per hour
Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
Education:
- Bachelor's (preferred)
Experience:
- Classroom experience: 3 years (preferred)
- Experience with Children: 3 years (preferred)
- Childcare: 3 years (preferred)
Language:
- A Scandinavian language (preferred)
