Department Overview

The Sourcing organization is the functional lead for the procurement of materials and services at Pacific Gas and Electric Company.

The department collaborates with internal clients and suppliers managing $13+ billion of annual company spend to develop mutually beneficial total cost solutions for goods and services.

The department provides the following services to internal clients:

procurement of goods and services, strategic sourcing and cost savings, contract management, supplier relationship management, supplier diversity planning, execution and outreach, compliance management, ongoing procurement field support and management of the procure to pay cycle.

Position Summary

You will drive the client experience by leading your team in developing and leading effective strategic sourcing strategies for the corporate strategic sourcing category areas (including real estate, fleet, land, various consulting areas, finance, HR etc.), guide and lead team on effective category management and contract execution, RFP-level activities, as well as master contract writing and overall contract versatility.

You will support portfolio(s) goals via various workstreams including identifying potential category optimization, generating cost savings and value unlock, partnering with our supplier responsibility team, support and optimize client demand signals, supplier consolidation efforts as desired, and process standardization opportunities.

You can also play a key role in identifying opportunities for efficiencies within corporate and sourcing policies and processes to improve results for both Sourcing and Portfolio clients.


PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting.

This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job.

The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity.

We would not anticipate that the individual hired into this role would land at or near the top half of the range described below, but the decision will be dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.


A reasonable salary range is:


Bay Area Minimum:
$140,000.00


Bay Area Maximum:
$238,000.00

&/OR


California Minimum:
$133,000.00


California Maximum:
$226,000.00

This position is hybrid, working from your remote office and your assigned work location based on business need. The assigned work location will be within the PG&E Service Territory.


Responsibilities:

Supervise category lead roles for each category area in the portfolio.

Lead and coach the term in the development of strategic portfolio and category plans to generate cost savings, supplier optimization, service excellence, and optimized diversity spending and total cost of ownership for various functional areas.

Establish and nurture relationships with corporate functional area leadership teams.
Oversee contract spend across multiple corporate spend categories
Develop short and long-term strategies for all spend categories within portfolio.
Lead complex cross-functional teams in the execution of strategic sourcing initiatives that span all sourcing teams.
Support the overall governance of the contract approval process from contract creation through contract award.
Coordinate spend analysis, needs assessment, benchmarking and business case development
Help category lead team in the development and execution of negotiation strategies.
Monitor and support customer satisfaction for continuous improvement opportunities.
Manage continuous improvement-based relationships that deliver mutually beneficial results for PG&E and its suppliers.


Qualifications:


Minimum:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
At least 8 years of sourcing or related industry experience relevant to the role responsibilities


Desired:

Experience in procurement-related policies
Master's degree in business administration or job-related discipline or equivalent experience
Experience with Ariba and/or SAP
Utility industry experience
Experience in project management
Leadership experience, 2-4 years supervising and managing teams.
LSS-Lean Six Sigma Certification
Institute for Supply Management Certified Professional in Supply Management
