Hearthside Food Solutions is seeking a Machine Operator to add to our team in Romeoville, IL

Pay:

- $19.75/hr

  • Time and a half OT pay.
- $0.50/hr. Shift Differential for 2nd Shift


Shift(s) Available:

-
1st Shift - 10-hour shift Monday through Friday starting between 2:00 pm - 2:45 pm and ending between 11:45 pm - 12:45 am.
-
2nd Shift - 10-hour shift Monday through Friday starting between 4:00 am - 5:15 am and ending between 2:30 pm - 3:15 pm.

  • Expected Overtime that includes 3+ weekend shifts per month

Job Summary:

The Machine Operator performs set-ups, makes minor adjustments and operates packaging equipment. Identifies acceptable or unacceptable product quality per customer requirements. Performs wash and changeover of equipment. Machine Operators will need to be reliable and able to work with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP's) at all times.


Responsibilities:


  • Performs accurate set ups on equipment in preparation for particular product runs.
  • Operates equipment and adjusts as necessary to ensure equipment is operating correctly and meeting quality specifications.
  • Inspects and tests packages, and documents results to ensure equipment is operating correctly and meeting quality specifications.
  • Stages and checks required materials for quick and accurate change overs in production.
  • Completes and assembles all required documentation associated with the position.
  • Maintains works area in a clean and organized manner.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:


  • Must be 18 years of age and authorized to work in the U.S.
  • Must be able to demonstrate proficiency in operating specific food manufacturing and packaging machines (IE: film thermoforming machines, cup/tray film sealers, multipond scales, etc.)
  • Knowledgeable (or willing to learn) GMPs and the HACCP program
  • Must have the ability to understand and follow all safety policies and procedures.
  • Must have the ability to handle small tools.
  • Good organizational and communication skills in order to prioritize work and communicate changes to line workers.
  • Team environment must be able to work well with others and communicate in a respectful and professional manner.
  • Must be able to work necessary overtime based on staffing needs and customer demand, as well as across shifts.
  • Sufficient math skills to calculate quantities of material required for orders being run.
  • High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
  • Ability to read and write in English is preferred.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements

  • Manufacturing environment
  • Exposure to a variety of machines, noise levels, and varying temperatures.
  • Must be willing to regularly work in cold temperatures often ranging from 3745 degrees
  • Ability to stand up to 80% of the time scheduled
  • Ability to lift 40 lbs. unassisted and 4075 lbs. assisted.
