Overview:
An industry leading security company providing services to the U.S. Government. The company is seeking to hire Alarm Monitors for our Security Operations Center (SOC Operators) for a federal contract at Fort Meaded, MD
SCC Operator:
- Minimum Experience Requirement:_
- Three years of experience in physical security, law enforcement or military experience demonstrating the proficiencies listed below OR may substitute two years of relevant education, above the high school level, for each year of experience, OR may combine relevant education and relevant experience totaling three years
- Other Requirements:_
- Possess a high school education or equivalency
- Strong customer service, communication, computer, and organizational skills
- Possess good verbal and written communication skills
- Able to comprehend rules, detailed instructions, and training materials
- Able to maintain poise and selfcontrol under stressful conditions and make quick decisions
- Demonstrate competent utilization of the MS Office to include MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook, and SharePoint
- Proficient using radios or other communications equipment
- Familiar with various facility alarm systems, operating and monitoring VSS, and operating barriers/controls
- Ability to meet and deal with the general public while always being courteous, professional, and responsive
- Ability to maintain poise and selfcontrol under stress
- Ability to construct and write clear and concise, accurate and detailed reports with mínimal supervision
- Functional Responsibility:
- Operates the Security Control Center systems, which includes governmentprovided Lenel Physical Access Control System (PACS), Video Surveillance System (VSS), electronic card readers, VX Ops camera system, intercom, public address system, mass notification system (e.g., Washington Metropolitan Area Warning System)
- Monitor, record, and respond to alarms generated by the PACS
- During emergencies, receive communications or information and ensure timely dispatch of response patrols
- Monitor, acknowledge, dispatch, and report Intrusion Detection System Alarms (Lenel/OnGuard), as well as from fire alarm systems, elevator monitoring system, building utility system, access control, etc.
- Relay Supervisors' instructions to SPOs on post
- Perform periodic radio checks
- Dispatch patrols and perform continual surveillance services of the property
- Report discrepancies for corrective action
- Maintain a security blotter with all pertinent securityrelated communications and activities, and submit to the Program Manager at the end of each shift
- Will be provided onsite training by the government on VSS, Intrusion Detection, and Physical Access Control Systems
