Maintenance - Painter


LOCATION OF JOB:
East or West Leyden High Schools


REPORTS TO:
Foremen and Building and Grounds Supervisor


QUALIFICATIONS:

• Certification of good health by a licensed physician.
• Must have general knowledge of all phases of building maintenance.
• Must have successful experience in painting/decorating either in

private fields or as a maintenance worker in school district.

• Must be available for emergency situations.
• Must have a valid driver's license as required by law.
• Any alternatives to the above as may be acceptable and appropriate.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Ability to speak in a clear and understandable manner and write legibly.
• Ability to lift in excess of 100 pounds.
• Ability to stand or walk for the entire workday.
• Ability to work at various heights.
• Ability to work in confined areas.
• Ability to supervise individuals.
• Ability to be available for emergency situations.
• Ability to be aware of the security of the students, staff, and school

property.

• Ability to meet daily attendance requirements.
• Ability to be available for overtime assignments.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assume primary responsibilities for all painting and decorating.
• Responsible for and supervise all helpers under his/her direction.
• Recommend supplies and equipment for purchase and maintain the

inventory of district-owned hand tools, equipment, hardware,

materials, and supplies directly related to his/her usage.

• Estimate costs of painting-decorating projects in terms of labor,

material, and overhead as requested by the Building and Grounds

Supervisor and/or Foreman.

• Examine district-owned facilities on a regular basis for purposes of

preventive maintenance and report findings to Building and Grounds

Supervisor and/or Foreman.

• Responsible for maintenance of tools and equipment to insure safe,

clean, and efficient operation.

• Assist as needed for snow removal.
• Perform any additional duties as assigned by the Foreman, and/or

Building and Grounds Supervisor.


Job Types:
Full-time, Part-time


Pay:
$28.55 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
