****Essential Duties:****
**Include the following, other duties as assigned:**
**Responsible for the preparation and delivery of all meals.**
**Responsible for general department sanitation.**
**Ensures food is held at proper temperatures so that bacterial growth is prohibited.**
**Demonstrates complete understanding, and ensures safety/emergency procedures for the department.**
**Identifies potentially unsafe situations, and notifies supervisor if unable to correct/resolve.**
**Prepares meals for the cafeteria, and all programs according to menus following a standardized recipe, food orders, and any special condition diets for children, senior, family and community clusters.**
**Maintains cleanliness, sanitation of kitchen, and serving utensils, and equipment.**
**Attends all in-service trainings, and staff meetings.**
**Utilizes time efficiently, and completes duties without sacrificing the quality of work.**
**Promotes, and maintains open communication with supervisors, and other personnel.**
**Makes a concerted effort to minimize leftovers.**
**Responsible for tasting food, and making necessary adjustments as needed for palatability.**
**Reports to Cook/Kitchen Supervisor any necessary changes/substitutions for meal service as soon as they are known.**
**Demonstrates good health, hygiene, clothing is neat, and clean. Slip resistant shoes most be worn at all times while on the kitchen premises.**
**Demonstrates flexibility in working hours, and days scheduled in order to meet the needs of the department.**
**Ability to provide cross-coverage to other areas of the kitchen if a need presents itself.**
**Supports cafeteria operations by performing additional duties and tasks when directed or as indicated.**
