Position Overview:


As an Enrichment Tutor, you will play a crucial role in supporting the educational and enrichment activities of students during after-school hours.

Working under the supervision of program coordinators, you will assist in implementing engaging programs, providing academic support, and fostering a positive learning environment.


Responsibilities:


Supervision and Assistance:

  • Supervise students during afterschool hours, ensuring their safety and wellbeing.
  • Assist students with homework assignments and provide academic support as needed.

Activity Planning and Implementation:

  • Collaborate with program coordinators to plan and implement educational and recreational activities.
  • Lead or assist in organizing ageappropriate games, arts and crafts, and other extracurricular activities.

Behavior Management:

  • Implement positive behavior management strategies to create a respectful and inclusive atmosphere.
  • Address behavioral issues promptly and communicate effectively with students, parents, and program staff.

Communication:

  • Maintain open communication with parents and program coordinators regarding student progress and behavior.
  • Provide regular feedback on student engagement and participation.

Resource Support:

  • Assist in maintaining an organized and wellequipped learning environment.
  • Prepare and distribute learning materials as directed by program coordinators.

Attendance Tracking:

  • Keep accurate records of student attendance and participation in afterschool activities.
  • Report any concerns regarding attendance or participation to program coordinators.

Emergency Procedures:

  • Follow established procedures for handling emergencies and ensure the safety of students at all times.
  • Participate in emergency drills and training as required.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; some college coursework in education or a related field is a plus.
  • 48 completed college credits
  • Previous experience working with children in an educational or recreational setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, flexibility, and the ability to work effectively in a team.
  • Basic knowledge of child development and effective classroom management techniques.

Schedule:
This is a part-time position, Monday through Friday. The specific schedule may vary based on program needs.


Schedule/Availability:


  • Sessions will be held five days at a school site in Ontario Montclair School District, Monday-Friday schedule 11:30 AM 5:00 PM. Must be available for the entire shift.
