Position Summary


The applicant for our
Computer Operator role supports the functions of the BetaNXT Computer Operations team in their efforts to provide and continually improve services by delivering operational excellence and error free operational services as first level of resolution.

In this role the incumbent will ensure high system and service availability to customers, while possessing the ability to maintain crisp focus and an excellent work ethic.

The Operator is responsible for successful batch processing, ensuring daily SLAs are met, the execution of all mainframe platform components, LPAR IPLs and file deliverables necessary to succeed in our dynamic, large-scale, multi sysplex, multi-platform, 24x7X365 mainframe environment.


Based out of Plano Texas, the hours for this Computer Operator position are 0800 to 1600 CT, Monday through Friday, with the flexibility to cover a couple Saturdays annually, when necessary, is required.


Role Responsibilities, Experience and Qualifications Required
A Minimum of 2 years' experience within an IBM Mainframe z/OS computer operations environment, including:

  • IPL experience in a multi LPAR platform and experience with HMCs
  • Knowledge of ASG-ZEKE scheduling package
  • Functional with TSO (SDSF / ISPF)
  • Knowledge of file transfers (NDM and FTP)
  • Knowledge of Changeman Software (code package promotes and demotes)
  • Functional with Windows Laptops / PCs, including the Microsoft Office 365, Outlook, and TEAMs
  • Respond to system requests and resolve them in a timely manner
  • Initiate internal Technical Recovery Team calls as needed to aid in service restoration
  • Execute trace routes for network troubleshooting
  • Efficient with Monitoring Tools and SAR
  • Knowledge of DASD, Virtual Tape Systems
  • Knowledge of
    Incident management software (REMEDY and Service Now)
  • Generation of status reports
  • ITIL certification is a plus
