- The Surgical Technician, under the guidance of the Registered Nurse, is responsible for the care and safety of surgical patients who come under his /her care.
- The Surgical Technician is responsible for assisting the physician with the preparation of and the technical aspects of the role of the scrub person during surgical procedures.
- Performs routine technical and various other duties as required.
- Good interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Ability to work with detailed, confidential material, computer experience required.
- Ability to follow directions and work with precision under pressure.
- Maintains sensitivity, maturity, and flexibility in coping with difficult situations
- BLS and ACLS
- National Institutes of Health (NIH)
- Certified Principal Investigator (CPI) Certification
- Sound knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology.
- The ability to stand for extended periods.
- Strong technical skills.
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Passionate about patient care
- Requires a minimum of two years of current Surgical Tech experience.
- Graduate from a fully accredited Surgical Tech certification program
- Active unencumbered Texas Surgical Technologist state license
- One year of Epic experience
- COVID vaccine with 2 Shots & Booster.
- Maintains and updates clinical knowledge and skills.
- Participates in relevant continuing education programs.
- Knowledge of and dedication to the highest patient care and provide the utmost service excellence to all patients.
- Ability to take initiative and to exercise independent judgment, decision-making and problem-solving expertise.
- A can-do, team oriented attitude is essential, as the ability to work independently and to interact easily with physicians, other managers and staff throughout the department and hospital.
- Effective interpersonal/communication, organizational, and the flexibility to handle multiple tasks.
