As a damage assessor, you will play a vital role in assessing and documenting the impact of storms on various utilities throughout the US.
Your expertise and dedication will directly contribute to ensuring communities get their power back on in a timely manner.Qualifications/Requirements:
- 5+ years electric utility experience and/or prior damage assessment experience or successful completion of a damage assessment training course.
- Must be available to work all hours required by the electric utility.
- Be fit for duty and able to walk long distances through various types of terrain.
- In most cases you will need to provide your own vehicle.
- Must have a smartphone device with a data plan and wireless capabilities.
Responsibilities:
- Conducting onsite assessments: You will be responsible for visiting affected areas to assess the extent of damage on distribution powerlines caused by severe storm events.
- Prioritizing safety: Safety is our top priority. You will adhere to safety protocols and guidelines at all times to ensure your wellbeing and the wellbeing of others during damage assessment activities.
- Providing accurate assessments: Your assessments will be used to determine the scope of damage on all components of the utility's system. You will identify equipment needed to make repairs. Accuracy and attention to detail is crucially important.
