General Statement
Responsible for coordinating, developing, and implementing outreach, marketing, and recruitment activities to promote and expand apprenticeship degree pathways. Ensure each pathway complies with grant, department, and college requirements. Project manager for multi-faceted, multi-year design and implementation project.


Supervision Received
Reports to the Vice President of Academic Affairs.


Supervision Exercised
May supervises part-time or contract employees, and / or work study students as assigned.


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Serve as the Quinsigamond Community College (QCC) lead to build and sustain robust and sufficiently resourced apprenticeship degree pathways.
  • Work in close partnership with the Smith Family Foundation, Accelerate the Future, the National Center for the Apprenticeship Degree, peer grantees, faculty, college and program accreditors, and employers to initiate apprenticeship degree pathways.
  • Lead and manage the Apprenticeship Degree Innovation Fund grant program. Act as project team lead with each pathway and closely coordinate deliverables with the VPAA, deans and faculty. Represent the program with funders.
  • Serve as a vital liaison between program faculty and various internal and external stakeholders, including state boards of education, employers, mentors, programspecific accreditors, and communitybased organizations (CBOs) as needed.
  • In conjunction with Director of Apprenticeship Expansion, conduct site visits and outreach to business and industry to assist in developing new or expanding existing apprenticeship degree pathways.
  • Facilitate the smooth exchange of assessment results and competency measures between mentors at apprenticeship sites and with program faculty and respective deans, aligning with student learning outcomes.
  • Collaborate closely with admissions and marketing teams to actively recruit potential students into program pathways. Articulate the compelling benefits and economic value of the apprenticeship degrees both internally and externally.
  • Aid apprenticeship site mentors in crafting and implementing behaviorally anchored, performancebased assessments. These assessments should effectively gauge the mastery of student learning outcomes and skills competency.
  • Act as the representative of QCC and attend external meetings, as necessary.
  • Develop comprehensive metrics, including leading and lagging indicators, to track and communicate the progress and growth of the programs.
  • Explore opportunities to align apprenticeship degrees with other curricular innovations at QCC, such as Competency-Based Education (CBE), and various forms of workbased learning.
  • Integrate industryrecognized credentials with apprenticeship degrees wherever feasible, ensuring the degrees hold substantial economic value and lead to living wages.
  • Collaborate closely with the transfer office to ensure a seamless transition to baccalaureate degrees, ultimately resulting in opportunities for familysustaining wages. Conduct onsite visits and outreach to business and industry to assist in developing new or expanding existing apprenticeship degree pathways.
  • Prepare and conduct group and oneonone presentations to outreach and engage students in apprenticeship degree pathways. Coordinate referrals and support programs available to program participants.
  • Host and facilitate informational sessions and roundtable events with local industry groups and associations, including the local chambers of commerce and regional economic development entities to engage prospective new partners.
  • Work in close partnership with the Smith Family Foundation, Accelerate the Future, NCAD, and peer grantees to collect and share data, artifacts, and best practices.
  • Collect data and prepare reports on pathway development, recruitment, and progress to meet goals.
  • Develop recruitment, promotional, marketing materials, and news releases for the apprenticeship program. Utilize social and print media in coordination with the marketing department.
  • Contribute to the organization, planning and execution of events supporting apprenticeship awareness, including events for National Apprenticeship Week.
  • Assist with the development of account budgets, expenditure, and revenue forecasts.
  • Track and monitor expenditures, identify problems, and advise as appropriate.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications**- Demonstrated experience in project management.

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • Experience launching and supporting preapprenticeship or Registered Apprenticeship programs, or other deeply embedded workbased learning programs.
  • Valid driver's license.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in related field.
