Description

Duties:


  • Serves as a Material Resource Planning capacity planner who forecasts, monitors, schedules and/ or expedites workload needed to support for programs utilizing logistics scheduling and planning software such as Logistics Modernization Program.
  • Identifies and recommends a path forward or potential solutions for short
- and long-range capacity constraints within assigned work centers.

  • Serves as the primary advisor to the production control division for all overtime projections for the manufacturing areas.
  • Analyzes production reports and work center efficiencies used to formulate and compile pertinent data for reports on capacity control studies made for the division.
  • Conducts briefings on apparent discrepancies with Master Scheduler and command group, other division chiefs, and suggests corrective action and/or needed changes.
  • Determines the production capacity needed by an organization to meet changing demands for production.
  • Maintains standard files amongst all involved divisions for anticipated machine movements throughout the installation.
  • Continually reviews ways in which to make improvements and increase efficiency in regard to capacity planning in the manufacturing process.

Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: business administration, industrial management, production management, or engineering disciplines.

  • OR
  • Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages.
  • This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS09).

Education: Ph.

D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as:
business administration, industrial management, production management, or engineering disciplines.

Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.
