    Description

    Responsible for tracking all vendor complaints, creating visible and actionable metrics based on Pareto analysis, and communication to the corporate Quality team via SAP, email, or phone to drive corrective action. Ability to diagnose a problem and effectively communicate it to others verbally or in writing. This position will work closely with the Marketing team, Quality & OpEx Manager, Production Managers and Technical Support Manager.

    The Vendor Quality Assurance Technician will have a good understanding and working knowledge of the items below and demonstrate the ability to work cohesively with different departments that also have responsibility for vendor items.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • These responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
    • Complete understanding of all vendor complaints within SAP and ability to create Pareto reports that show monthly and yearly trends based on data from SAP.
    • Create "4 blocks" of supplier complaints, Pareto, and CDPPM overview for the company MOR.
    • SAP Notifications for defective vendor items that include the following:
    • Create notifications with required information for the corporate quality team to investigate
    • Request compensation for the defective items if the defect is supplier related
    • Work with the corporate quality team to get CAPA's from suppliers when necessary
    • Close each notification with the appropriate defect and cause codes for each complaint
    • Track and follow-up of notifications where credit and/or CAPA has been requested.
    • Have a working knowledge of key vendor products.
    • Ability to drive issues such as getting CAPA responses from corporate or getting credit memos for defective products.
    • Ability to develop quality inspection checklists or Standard Work Instructions (SWI) for incoming and/or outgoing vendor products that are identified as high risk and be able to drive implementation within the Distribution Center to:
    • Inspect deliveries from vendors/suppliers as necessary of high risk items,
    • Perform random audits of Distribution Center pertaining to vendor quality,
    • Inspect inventory items based on corporate requests.
    • Use LEAN tools where appropriate to aid in improving vendor quality to our customers
    • Comply with ISO 9001: Control of externally provided processes, products and services
    • Minor sample testing may be required
    • Other duties as assigned
    Requirements

    QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

    EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
    • Bachelor's degree a plus, will consider other equivalent experience in lieu of degree.
    Minimum Requirements:

    •Two years' experience preferred

    •Excellent communication and people skills; experience in collaborating in a multi-disciplinary, multi-national and diverse team.

    •Ability to work under pressure and with short deadlines.

    •Proven expertise working in a growth business environment and is adaptable to change.

    •Excellent organizational and communications skills.

    •Must be able to effectively deal with people at all levels.

    •SAP (or other ERP) knowledge and experience a plus

    •Advanced proficiency in MS Office Power Point, Word, Excel, ability to create Pivot Tables and Pareto graphs.

    •Must be self-motivated and able to achieve high impact in an unstructured environment with minimal supervision required.

    DESIRED TRAITS AND CHARACTERISTICS

    Possess a good attitude exhibiting patience and kindness towards others with the ability to make tough impartial decisions regarding vendor quality, have a positive work ethic, self-motivated with little supervision required, confident when speaking or writing about vendor issues and must have a customer perspective regarding vendor quality.

    LANGUAGE SKILLS

    Good grammar, written and verbal communication skills.

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS

    Minor lifting of boxes or items weighing less than 50 lbs.

    $20.00-$25.00 DOE
