    Program Manager, Connect2Health
    Job Summary

    Connect2Health, based within the Office of Undergraduate Studies, mobilizes student volunteers to link underserved patients with social services, and prepares students to be empathetic future health professionals who understand the importance of social determinants of health.

    Connect2Health is a two-pronged program that supports a number of student volunteers, and provides strategic vision for a basic needs resource referral database.

    In 2021 alone, Connect2Health volunteers contributed almost 6,000 hours, and made over 23,000 resource referrals.

    A central part of connecting patients with basic needs and additional health support services is the creation and maintenance of a service and referral database.

    The Connect2Health program manager is responsible for managing all aspects of the program, including budget oversight, and working collaboratively to determine the strategic vision and implementation.

    This individual will work closely with individuals from the Office of Undergraduate Studies leadership, Connect2Health Board, on-campus partners, clinical partners, and potential community partners.

    This position reports to the Assistant Dean of College Access & Community Engagement in the Office of Undergraduate Studies.
    Responsibilities


    • Work with the assistant dean, academic partners, community partners, and student volunteers to coordinate, implement, recruit, evaluate, and assess student volunteers who serve in hospital and community clinics.
    • Develop and implement program assessment and continuous improvement processes.
    • Liaison with key stakeholders, including the University of Utah Hospital, partner institutions, affiliate organizations, and others.
    • Recruit and provide student support in serving volunteer hours at our affiliate organizations.
    • Recruits and manages student leaders in the program who serve as chairs of areas such as resource chairs, recruitment chairs, and affiliate organization site leaders.
    • Help manage a resource database that is utilized by C2H and our affiliate organizations.
    • Provide training and materials for our C2H volunteers so that they are compliant with healthcare regulations and affiliate organizations' requirements.
    • Provide quarterly reports to our affiliate organizations about the utilization of C2H services and other information.
    • Provides budgetary oversight of the C2H program.
    • Explores additional funding opportunities for the C2H program.
    • This position requires occasional visits to partner clinic.

    Minimum Qualifications

    Bachelor's degree in a related area plus three years of experience in budget, grant and program management or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience) required.

    Develops and implements program ideas into successful academic and research programs; demonstrated human relations and effective communication skills also required.

    Applicants must demonstrate the potential ability to perform the essential functions of the job as outlined in the position description.

    Preferences
    Master's degree in a related area plus experience working in community-based volunteer programs in the healthcare field.

    Ideal candidates have prior experience and interest in student initiatives, program management, social service, community engagement, and research within the healthcare sector or related fields.
