Description

Your tasks

Injection molds are a central component in the production of medical technology. They consist of a variety of components, which are manufactured using various production methods (individual parts or small series with approximately 20 components). Typical production methods include milling, grinding, wire EDM, or sinker EDM. Most manufactured components go through multiple production steps with different methods before being assembled into a complete tool. During the production of these components, errors and thus the rejection of workpieces occur. This phenomenon is often noticeable in the first component of small series.

The goal of this work is therefore to investigate where these production errors occur in the respective production process and how they can be avoided. The focus is on identifying the specific process and developing an implementation concept to reduce rejects.

Tasks:

  • You will conduct intensive research in specialist literature and on software solutions to identify strategies for avoiding production errors in component production.
  • You will analyze the current state of processes in various departments to get a clear picture of existing practices and challenges.
  • You will develop detailed requirements for processes and employees that contribute to minimizing production errors.
  • You will design a strategic implementation plan based on your findings, outlining clear steps for improving production quality.

Your qualifications

  • You are studying in the field of mechanical engineering, production technology, industrial
